AGM report

Following our AGM held on 12th August, we can confirm that ticket prices for the 2026/2027 dance season will be £28 for members, £34 for non-members or guests, with an annual membership of £7. Tickets for the upcoming September dance will be on sale from 17th August. Please see our tickets page for further information.

At the AGM, our retiring Chairman Martyn Hughes handed over the hot seat to Ian Ding for the next 2 years.

In his summary of the past year, Martyn confirmed that we have had a successful year of dances, which have been well attended and enjoyed by both regulars and visitors alike, and that we remain a unique regular event in the North of England. We have an agreement with Scarborough Spa that takes us through to the end of December 2027, and a similar arrangement with Hep To The Jive to provide our much appreciated live music. Financially, we made a slight operating surplus in the year 2025/2026, which confirmed our status as a non-profit making organisation, without making a loss.

Finally before handing over the chain of office to Ian, Martyn thanked all the committee members for their support and help over the past 2 years.
