Code of Conduct

We welcome everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religion, age, socio-economic background or dance ability.

We value safety and inclusivity, and aim to provide an environment where all can enjoy their evening.

Respect for All Dancers

  • Treat every attendee with kindness, patience and courtesy.
  • Accept or decline dance invitations politely – no explanations required.

Safety on the Dance Floor

  • Maintain good floor craft – be aware of your surroundings and try to avoid collisions.
  • Follow the line of dance (anticlockwise) for travelling dances.
  • Keep conversations off the dance floor to avoid causing a hazard.
  • Keep the floor clear for dancers.
  • If not dancing, do not cross the dance floor when a dance is in progress.
  • Please show your appreciation of our live band with applause at the end of each number.

Inclusivity

  • Be welcoming to newcomers and help them to feel part of our dance community.
  • Be polite and courteous to other dancers.
  • Encourage less experienced dancers to participate without fear or judgement.
  • All dancers have the choice to lead or follow.
